I'm Reija pronounced "Raeya" Owner/Photographer at StudioR Boudoir -- a boudoir studio for women. I'm very passionate about boudoir photography because of the impact I've seen it have on my clients over the past 10+ years. Professional boudoir photography helps women of all ages, stages of life and body types to feel more confident, beautiful and sexy. It also helps women to connect with their own unique beauty.

My style of boudoir photography can be described as classy, tasteful, elegant and sexy. My lovely home studio is a very comfortable and safe environment for boudoir photography. This is important because it allows my clients to really relax and enjoy the session, which sets the stage for beautiful and authentic photographs.

A great boudoir photography experience also involves skilled retouching and excellent customer service. At StudioR Boudoir you benefit from my perfectionism and professionalism and can count on it from our first communication to the completion of our work together and beyond. Each of your photographs is carefully and individually retouched, for a highly professional, yet natural look. Your phone calls and communications will be answered promptly and you will receive your photographs in the quoted times or sooner. I love my work and am committed to professional excellence.

Let's work together to create a memorable experience and images that will be treasured for many years to come!

My Background

I’m a Finnish-Australian-American, living in California with my wonderful husband of 30+ years. Together we have two beautiful, young adult daughters. We also have a super gentle pit-bull mix and three cats!

My passion for photographing people began when I was child and received my first camera. However, my path to becoming a professional photographer was a meandering one. I graduated from Monash University, Australia then worked as a Computer Programmer and Auditor. Once I started a family I chose to be a stay-at-home mom. During my children's early years I volunteered for La Leche League International in many different capacities, including counseling new moms, organizing conferences and serving on the board of directors in the Northern California area. Through all of these experiences I developed highly professional work ethics; and great technical, organizational and communication skills.

Then, about 12 years ago, after an epiphany, I began on my direct path to a career in photography. I have a certificate in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography, and an Advanced Certificate in Graphic Design, with Sessions College of Professional Design.

Over 10 years ago I opened a portrait photography studio. I worked in both studio and outdoor settings with individuals and families. During that time boudoir photography became my passion, and StudioR Boudoir was born. Last year I decided to focus solely on boudoir photography for women. I've come to realize how empowering, liberating and transformational boudoir photography can be. This aligns with my greater passion in life, which is to help empower women in whatever way I can, using my gifts and talents.
